In June 2023, Scotland welcomed the International Play Association Conference to Glasgow.
The International Play Association Conference is a triennial conference. Find out more about IPA World here: https://ipaworld.org/
Play Scotland played a key role in delivering this conference. We sat on the organising committee, we supported practitioners to get involved, and we presented multiple times at the conference.
In the run up to the International Play Association Conference
Our CEO sat on the organising committee for the International Play Association Conference and chaired the children and young people’s participation group. We were delighted at the amount of children involved both from Glasgow and around the world.
We organised the global participation project – Litter Pick and Play.
We organised multiple webinars to support practitioners to get involved in the conference.
At the International Play Association Conference
Many members of the Play Scotland team presented at the International Play Association Conference and ran workshops. You can read about how busy we were in our blogs!

Children, Young People and Placemaking in Scotland
One of the most exciting presentations we gave was about the new Children, Young People and Placemaking in Scotland tools.
Our CEO Marguerite Hunter Blair presented along with Kuan Loh to share the new work developing in this area.
