Parents fears that children wrapped in cotton wool – as they ban them from going to corner shop

Two thirds of parents say they do not think their children should be “wrapped in cotton wool” – yet are almost three times as likely to keep them indoors as their own parents were.

Polling of parents’ attitudes to risk found that more than 40 per cent of parents almost never let their children outside to play.

Only a quarter have ever let them go on a skateboard without knee and elbow pads and only a third allow them to play ball games in quiet streets or even run an errand to a local shop.  Full article from The Telegraph
