Dr David Whitebread on the Importance of Play and Learning
Dr Whitehead was the Principal Investigator on Play Learning and Narrative Skills which was to investigate the positive influence that a playful learning approach could have in 5-10 year olds’ narrative and writing skills funded from the Lego Foundation.
John J Reilly, Professor of Physical Activity and Public Health Science Physical Activity for Health, Strathclyde University on the Health and Educational Impact of Active Play.
Prof Reilly was involved in a Knowledge Exchange largely through leading the ‘Active Healthy Kids Scotland Report Card’ (www.activehealthykidsscotland.co.uk), a ‘state of the nation’ report on the physical activity and health of Scottish children and adolescents.
The Children’s University of Scotland on their Passport to Learning.
The University gives children aged 5 to 14 opportunities to take part in exciting, interactive and voluntary learning activities, outside of normal school hours.
